For the Thailand Tigers, actively contributing to the communities in which we live is an important part of the club. Below are activities the club has recently organized and/or participated in:
HOPE FOR SKYE: Domestic Legends Day
On Saturday 20 June, 2015, the Thaigers turned their celebration of 10-years of Domestic footy into a fundraiser for Hope for Skye; a campaign set up to raise money for the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation to find a cure for this rare disease. Skye is the daughter of former club stalwarts Mark and Daeng Robson, with Mark serving as President in 2005-6. Last year they discovered that Skye had Sanfilippo and was given a life expectancy of somewhere between 12 and 20 years if a cure is not found.
From the day, the Thaigers raised over 60K THB to donate to the fund and plan more activities in the future, including a Intrepid sponsored cycle tour later this year.
Joining for our 2nd year, on Sunday 14 June, 20+ eager Thaigers gathered at Lumpini Park to participate in the Rainbow Run; an event to raise funds and awareness for special needs children in Thailand. This year, through donations of participants, the club contributed 16,300baht to the Rainbow Foundation. And we look forward to joining again in 2016!
