Tigers Anzac Day Special 2009
24-26 April 2009

ANZAC Day Game 2009 – Kanchanaburi - Sat April 25th 2009. Thailand Tigers Vs Vietnam Swans. This year's game is an event not to be missed with the game being played on ANZAC day itself. So why not head to Kanchanburi, attend the dawn service and play/watch two Aussie rules teams go at it for the diggers and make sure you don't miss this great weekend of reflection, footy and mateship.

The 2009 Anzac weekend is fast approaching and promises to be our biggest event yet so please read through the information below and let Andy know if you would like to book the tour?

Accommodation -
2 nights (Fri, Sat) = 2,000 baht/person (twin / double share) Note single rooms are 4000thb for 2 nights. In the past we have had teams staying at different accommodation which is a logistical nightmare so this year we have blocked a total of 50 rooms at The Royal River Kwai Resort. The accom needs to be booked and paid for by Monday 16th March so the cut off date will be Friday 13th March. Please note that once we have booked and paid for the accom it is non refundable meaning anyone canceling after Monday 16th March will need to pay whether they come or not. Accommodation is also very difficult to get over the Anzac weekend so there is no guarantee that we can accommodate any late bookings.

We will most likely have 2 buses leaving Bangkok on Friday evening:-
· 1st bus from Lumpini Park @ 6pm
· 2nd bus from the Airport at whatever time the Vietnam players arrive.

The journey from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi takes approx 3hrs and the transport cost is 1200thb per person for the whole weekend

Saturday Night Dinner on the Raft
On Saturday night we'll be hiring a Raft to cruise down the River Kwai. The raft will leave The Royal River Kwai Resort at 7pm and will arrive in Kanchanaburi town centre at around 8.30pm. The cost is 600baht/person and this includes a Thai buffet, beers, wine & soft drinks.

Friday 24th April
The Buses will be departing to Kanchanaburi from Lumpini Park @ 6pm & the Suvarnabhumi airport pick up time will be announced at a later date. Travel time is approx 3hrs.

Saturday 25th April
3am - wake up call and a 3.30am departure to Hellfire Pass for the Anzac Dawn Service. The bus will arrive to Hellfire at approx 5am and the Dawn Service will commence at approx 5.30am followed by a gunfire breakfast which is Coffee, Bundi and Anzac biscuits. We will arrive back to the resort at approx 8.30am. For more info log onto

12.30pm – depart from Resort to the ground approx 15mins. Pre game announcements, introductions and national anthems at 2pm. 2.30pm kick off with 15min quarters and a half time match for Quiet Lions kids. There will be post game presentations and drinks and we will return to the Resort at approx 5pm.

6.30pm – Pre dinner drinks at the Resort jetty and at 7pm we will board the raft for dinner & drinks which will cruise down the River Kwai. The journey will finish at approx 8.30pm and we will be transferred to a nearby pub which televises the AFL football.(drinks @ bar prices) There will be a bus later in the evening to transfer back to the resort though there is plenty of cheap transport available at later times for those who choose to kick on.

Sunday 26th April
Depart back to Bangkok @ approx 10.30am and there will no doubt be a venue for all to kick on at back in BKK.

You will need to email with Option 1,2 or 3 by Friday 13th March.
